Babex

"What's Babex ?" cried Gail as Jason's lovingly written sheet fluttered in the breeze on last night's Coro. The sign actually said 'I still luv you. Sorry Babe x'. Sarah looked all doe-eyed out the window at it, then returned to watching telly. I bet she will have him back!

And what about Clare? Has she lost the plot - she was nowhere near the taxi when that woman was looking in!

Loved the bit where Craig was telling David about Roy and Hayley's TV viewing habits ..."They switch it on to see something they want to watch, then they turn it off straight after - it's really weird!" Kids today - I don't know.

We saw more of slimey Charlie lastnight too ... but I fear his days are numbered.

thirsty

Liz McDonald just heard Schmeichel's aunty was thirsty and has sent her through a genuine Rovers pint!

Am I too late for the party? ...

... just had to nip out and get my hair done. Good to see Mr T. has come but do we really need that Hilton lass? She's a bit trashy for the likes of us. Now where is my party hat and a nice bowl of water - I'm parched!

Happy returns from Wilmslow!

You may not believe it, but Wilmslow's recently elected mayor, Barry Burkhill, has just emailed! He says:

"Congratulations from the people of Wilmslow on your 5 month anniversary. You have certainly helped put Wilmslow on the map. Before Kia Ora Coro, Wilmslow was filled with footballers wives and Corrie St stars, but they all left for Los Angeles after a flood of New Zealand blog-readers flocked to our pretty city. Kia Ora.

More sincerely than usual,

Barry Burkhill"

Aww, I'm sure we all have many fond memories of our Wilmslow week. Thanks Barry!

Mr T has emailed the following through to us:

"Kia ora to Kia Ora Coro and all its readers for toughing it out to the five month mark. I read this blog regularly even though I have not had the pleasure to view the glory that is Coronation Street.

I hope we all enjoy today's party and I for one am looking in great
anticpation towards the next party on September 25. I shall be there with chains on (ha ha).

Keep off the drugs, kids.

Mr. T

P.S. I pity the fool that doesn't post a comment to this blog"

Well, kia ora to you Mr T, for being such a devoted fan!

celebrity message #2

And this charmer's just come in from Les Battersby...

party message #1

Well we've had our first celebrity message come in!
Lloyd (one of Coro's taxi drivers for those of you not in the loop) has emailed to say "Happy 5 month birthday!" and has sent through a photo of himself from his Red Dwarf days...

P A R T Y !

5 months!

Pop back later in the day to hear from special guests like Paris and Mr T!

Coro last night

I'm suprised Charlie earns any money given that he spends his whole working day romping about with his women!

And if you're in the mood for a grim, slightly Coro-related story, click here.

4 things

Firstly, don’t forget to watch Coro tonight. There’s bound to be more of Sarah Platt lolling on the couch getting fat on biscuits with Gail and Audrey fussing over her (and who gets neglected once again? Poor old David.)

Secondly, don’t forget the party tomorrow. I’ve heard a rumour that Paris Hilton is coming. Not sure if she’s wearing a poncho.

Thirdly, if you don’t mind the mild spoilers, check out Tvor’s blog post for today. It’s particularly satisfying.

Fourthly, mum now has an official beading photo gallery in case you’re interested in purchasing some quality beads!

See you all tomorrow!

PARTY!!!

Kia Ora Coro is turning 5 months on August 25 and Schmeichel’s aunty and I are planning a PARTY!

To make things a little more interactive we’re asking YOU to provide the decorations, so please email me with images of party-related things that you'd like put up on the blog for Friday
(eg party hats, cakes, guests, presents, etc).

Then pop back on Friday to join the fun and frivolity!

Jilted!

OMG! Poor Sarah - left in the lurch at the last minute. You know, I think the nuptials would have taken place if Gail and Eileen hadn't come in. It was a timing thing really as it gave Jason a moment to think about it. What about sleazy Charlie! I'm afraid I nearly threw up watching that final scene with him and Maria on the sofa. And as for the wet tee-shirt ......please this is a family show!

Introducing Schmeichel's aunty - she's a Coro bitch!

Woof, woof everyone! Well now, what's this I hear about the possible demise of Kia Ora Coro! We can't allow that! My nephew Schmeichel tells me tonight is going to be a big night on the street with Jason and Sarah's wedding. What happens I wonder - will Jason say I do? I will be popping in occasionally just to give you all a rark-up. I actually live on Rosamund street so am nearly a local - I do get the odd bone from Ashley's shop.

Last breaths

The blog is dying...will it make to its 5 month anniversary?

Cats and dogs

Remember pet week? Well, Dierdre's discovered a website where you can create a webpage for your cat or dog and then they can take part in an online animal community!!! (By "they" I really mean "you". Unless your cat can read.)

For dogs, check out dogster.com.

And for cats, check out catster.com.

On both sites you can search by breed by clicking on the "Or see all breeds now" link (it's about half way down the homepage).

And make sure you check out Mercy the cat. There are pictures of him wearing a poncho and a beaded collar!!! I kid you not! (Unfortunately I can't get the photos into the blog, though).

No Coro for me

Oh dear.
Am still trying to work my way through my literature review.
See the man in the picture above? That's exactly how I feel.
And I haven't watched Coro all week : (

Coro Characters' Weird Body Bits

1. Diedre's neck (and stale cigarette breath).

2. Diggory's eyes (enlarged by those glasses.

3. Maria's semi-lazy eye (you hadn't noticed, had you? Look again).

4. Les' hair.

5. Janice's teeth (surely she has more than is normal? Look again.)

6. Gail.
7. Tracy's big mouth (I mean literally).

more Cs

The one you don't recognise is Craig Valentine from Shortland Street. For goodness sakes.

Alphabet Monday

C is for Chesney. But unfortunately I have a big assignment due on Friday so haven't had time to do much Chesney-related research. I think his photo says it all, though.

Whose your favourite "C" character?

The List

I'm putting together a list of quirky bodily features of Coro Street's characters (for example, Dierdre's neck...). I'll post it up on Tuesday, but if you have any suggestions, email them to me or post a comment!

Crikey. Those poor people.

That lady on the train

I think perhaps I got your expectations up too high, dear readers, when I mentioned the lady on the train who sat there with a jacket on her head the whole way.

It turned out, after we'd been sitting there talking about her and taking photos of her, that she was a TOUR GUIDE who was having some time-out from her tour group and had no-doubt seen the sights (and heard the commentary) a hundred times before!

So, yeah, I hope that was worth the wait.

Sorry.

The good news, though, is that on August 25 Kia Ora Coro will have been going for SIX months. Dierdre and I have been discussing blog-party plans, so keep an eye out for more details over the next week or so. Naturally there'll be some special guests but I'd also like you all to contribute with virtual decorations, virtual gifts or your own virtual guests!

Facebook

I'm contemplating joining Facebook. Are any of you Kia Ora Coro readers memebers of Facebook? Do you enjoy using it? Would you recommend it?
