Frankie & Jamie

I just don't know. On the one hand they suit each other. I mean, they really do. They'd be a great couple.
If it wasn't for the small fact that she's his
STEPMUM.

P.S. Check out the new poll!

But she is only his step-mum. And only a few years older ... so I think it's OK. You can't fight love!

Oh please. She's been MOTHERING him for the last 10+ years of his life. I don't care about the age difference, or lack thereof, I don't care that Frankie was married to Danny - the problem is the mothering. If Jamie had been living with his Carol, his real mum, all his life then okay, I could understand him falling in love with Frankie. But not when they have been living together as mother and son. I'm sure that anyone else who has step parents (or step children) will tell you that this is as gross and weird as suddenly falling in love with your biological mother or father! Oh, apart from Woody Allen.

It's just not realistic. The Richard Hillman plot was more realistic than this one.

Of course, I didn't mean that last comment to sound like it would be normal to fall in love with Woody Allen if he was your father or step father. On the contrary, I don't see how it could ever be okay to be in love with Woody Allen.

What I did mean was that Woody and his adoptive daughter thought it was okay. I'm sure they are watching the Frankie/Jamie plot in anticipation.

Hmm, but we do need interesting storylines and what better way than to segway from Fred's funeral inside the church to "the kiss" outside in the churchyard. Genius! I do however see the relationship as ill-fated - there will be lots of disapproval in the street. What on earth will the likes of Blance and Norris think?

Well, if the Street can't even cope with Audrey and Fred's totally innocent friendship, how on earth are they going to cope with this monstrosity of a relationship???

Well, of course it doesn't surprise me. I always thought there was something strange going on between those two. I mean, really, just look at Frankie. She doesn't really dress like a mum should, does she? My mother certainly didn't go about with...well...with...well...I'm just saying that a bit of modesty might have prevented the whole thing happening. I mean that pinnie barely covers anything.

Oh my, trust you to blame the woman, Norris. Anyway, what's wrong with showing a bit of cleavage now and then?

No, there's more people to blame for that relationship than meets the eye. I mean, really, is it any wonder that poor Jamie's confused after all he's been through? What, with that alcoholic mother and then his own father taking up with that Leanne? No, Norris, it's not just Frankie to blame there. *sigh* There'll be hearts broken though, I can tell you that much.

Well, I think it's a total disgrace. I say, who ever heard of such a thing? A mother taking up with her step son? It's unnatural, that is.

Anonymous said...

Well, yes, it does seem to be a little...'unnatural'. It's not something I ever considered before. Well, it's not something I've ever heard of before.

Of course you haven't Emily. You've led a good Christian life but there are some folk out there who are like to live a little closer to the edge.

The edge of what's natural, more like.

Calm down the pair of you. I mean, who's to say we haven't got the wrong end of the stick anyway? P'raps there's nowt going on at all??

Anonymous said...

Well, if you call kissing in the graveyard nothing, then p'raps you're right Rita!

Anonymous said...

No, no, Rita, Blanche saw it with her own eyes.

No, I'm sorry, but this is what this street has come to. We shall have to think about moving premises soon.

Don't be daft. You love the gossip.

Hmm ... there seems to be a direct link from the (dental) Kabin to the blog today.
