As some of you are already aware, in 1966 PC Colin Perks was on duty when he su
ddenly heard a whining noise and a greenish glowing object hovering above Hoopers department store (not the pub, as you might have expected). It hovered for 5 seconds (presumably while the aliens contemplated whether to probe poor old PC Perks) and then moved East. Being a well trained sort-of fellow, PC Perks quickly made a drawing (opposite) of the Wilmslow UFO.

Lindow Man (aka the Bog Man)
One of our Kia Ora Coro readers also pointed out that the Lindow Man was found near Wilmslow! He was the bog man who had been quietly preserving since the Iron Age in a peat pit at Lindow Moss until he was found and dug up in 1984. He was found face down with a rope knotted around his neck and there's debate about whether he was executed or murdered or sacrificed, etc. And in Wilmslow of all places!

Did Lindow man have too much Lindauer (Brut) and fall into that peat bog near Wilmslow I wonder?
PC Perks has drawn a giant boob! - wishful thinking on his part methinks. Clearly, not enough excitement in those days in Wilmslow.
Wilmslow Wanderer, I was thinking the same thing but didn't like to say! Now that I think about it, I wonder if perhaps the Lindow Man fell in the bog after too much champagne AND after getting a fright from seeing a giant floating boob!! Sounds like PC Perks had a lucky escape from a similar fate!!
